What Does Sugar-Free Mean?

Sugar-Free products have no refined sugar (sucrose) in them.

Sugar-Free products can be sweetened with either artificial or natural sweeteners.

Artificial sweeteners include Aspartame and Saccharin.

Maltitol and Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate are natural sweeteners. These sweeteners have a reduced glycemic response (the rate at which your blood sugar level rises) as compared to white table sugar.

Maltitol is a natural sweetener derived from corn.  Most of our chocolates and cookies are sweetened with this natural substitute.

Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate is also a  corn derived sweetener.  This sweetener is used for most of our sweet delicious hard candies.
